The EduCare project has officially begun. Following an initial meeting with all the organisations involved, roles and tasks have been assigned for the different phases of this project co-funded by the European Union, that will run until 2027. Below is an outline of the main activities of each organisation involved in the programme, which seeks to research practices of care within the framework of design education.
- The Care Lab: an international network of care activists, with a team based in Barcelona. They understand design as a discipline capable of reimagining systems of care within education, social care and healthcare.
- LUCA School of Arts: Belgian university in the Flanders region dedicated to art and design. It offers a range of study programmes and stands out for its cluster devoted to research into care and design.
- Cumulus Association: an international university network that fosters the exchange of knowledge, practices and collaboration in education and research in design, media and art. It organises annual gatherings with the aim of exchanging academic perspectives.
- Collectif Art’Enact: a Paris-based collective that promotes the use of the arts in education to foster empathy and improve relationships within the educational community. It works in teacher training, academic research and the creation of collaborative networks between artists, educators and cultural institutions.
- BAU, University Centre of Arts and Design of Barcelona: an institution offering bachelor’s degrees in arts and design, as well as a Master’s degree in Design Research and a practice-based doctoral programme. Through BAUResearch, research programmes are carried out in various fields related to pedagogies, inclusion and diversity in arts and design education programmes, and care.
